Scroll.in is hiring. We’re looking for a talented, well-informed journalist from India’s marginalised communities to join our award-winning news team as an Associate Editor. 

The candidate will work closely with news reporters, under the supervision of a senior editor, to ensure our news reportage is exceptionally clear and lucid. The job will involve extensive editing and rewriting of stories within tight deadlines. 

The basic requirements for the job:

*Between five to seven years of high-quality editing experience, preferably on a news desk 

*Impeccable writing, editing and proofreading skills, with an ability to craft stories across lengths and formats 

*A strong grasp of general news and politics in India

An understanding of the digital medium will be a bonus, since the candidate will be responsible for all aspects of a published work, including headline and photo selection.

The candidate must preferably be available to work out of Scroll.in’s offices in Delhi and Mumbai. However, this requirement may be waived for an exceptional candidate.

Recognising that Indian newsrooms lack diversity at all levels, but particularly so in editorial positions, Scroll.in would like to invite applications for this role from candidates from Dalit, Adivasi and Bahujan communities.
