Scroll is looking for a political correspondent with strong reporting, writing and analytical skills to join its award-winning team.
What the job will involve
Scroll is a small newsroom. Our reporters are expected to be all-rounders, playing multiple roles.
It is a unique opportunity for a motivated journalist since the breadth of the role is very wide and the potential to make an impact in the Indian newspace high.
You will be expected to produce:
Quick but in-depth ground reports
Reports from Delhi/via phone
Analyses of political developments for readers
What you must bring to the table
We want you to be highly knowledgeable when it comes to Indian politics while having the ability to report from the ground as well as write lucid, analytical copy.
Some of the requirements are:
A deep understanding of Indian politics
A keen interest in following the news
Excellent writing and analytical skills
Ability to hit the ground immediately and report
Beat knowledge and contacts among parties and civil society, as well as an ability to quickly develop new contacts
At least three years of reporting experience. Preferably covering politics
Highly motivated. Scroll reporters drive their own work
Based in Delhi
