Scroll is looking for a talented Audience Editor with a minimum of four years of experience in a digital newsroom. As the head of our audience team, you will work closely with other editors to ensure our readers and viewers get our award-winning journalism wherever they are, and feel motivated to become part of our community of paying members.
The key responsibilities are:
1. Strategic thinking: Understanding how the needs and interests of our audience are evolving and updating our engagement and social strategy based on that. This requires a knowledge of digital analytics tools but more importantly, an ability to listen deeply to online communities.
2. Daily work: Ensuring Scroll's day-to-day content is effectively promoted by the team across different social platforms through crisply written and smartly designed posts. Developing and implementing a schedule to maintain a consistent and lively presence on the platforms. This includes leveraging our archives to recirculate stories that are freshly relevant.
3. Leadership: Guiding and motivating other members of the audience team to produce engaging and impactful social media posts, and to look for new and innovative ways to build a deeper relationship with our readers and members.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about journalism, has a strong understanding of social media platforms and analytics tools, and thrives on the challenges of a fast-changing digital landscape. The ideal candidate should have the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Location: This position is open for candidates in Delhi and Mumbai, where Scroll has offices. The working arrangement is hybrid and flexible.
